What Do You Need To Know?
A complete central heating installation can mean a massive improvement for your property and includes a large number of components, some which are on show within the property.
The following is an initial list of questions which will help inform your central heating system design and product selection:
- Fuel Supply – Do you have a gas supply to your building? Gas fired boilers are the most economical to install and run.
- Hot Water Cylinder – Will the boiler heat the hot water directly itself (combination boiler) or will you have a separate hot water cylinder? Water tanks take up space but do have the advantage of instant hot water.
- How Do You Want the Rooms to be Heated? – Radiators, underfloor heating etc.? Radiators are the most economical and are a standard solution for space heating, though underfloor heating has become popular in spaces where radiators are not welcome visually (kitchens, bathrooms, open plan living areas etc.)
- What Space Do You Have to House the Boiler and is this Located Near to an External Wall? – The answer to these questions could influence the boiler selection and routing of the flue.
This is just a very initial list of things that will need to be thoughts about; at J and P we pride ourselves on giving all of our customers detailed guidance as to system design and product selection to ensure you have effectively heated spaces and lots of piping hot water.
Will There Be Much Disruption?
The most disruptive project is the replacement or installation of a new central heating system when the occupants are living within the property; as a result J and P will never recommend the replacement of a central heating installation unless it is absolutely necessary for issues can very often be solved by heating system repairs.
Our goal is to always keep any disruption to an absolute minimum, and therefore will work closely with the home owner to plan the work in a way that has the least amount of impact on the home.
J and P also have a fully skilled team of electricians, carpenters and painter decorators , so if there is any additional work which must be completed after the heating system has been installed, this can also be completed by us.
